HIU is an institution dedicated to teaching and researching. It is characterized by prioritizing bilingual online methodology, ensuring equal opportunities in access to higher education for groups and individuals beyond their economic, physical, personal, gender, education, family, geographic, or other situation . HIU generates and transfers knowledge in specific areas and is also an institution of methodological reference for the online mode for the high expertise of its academic staff and their research relationships.
The internationalization strategy of HIU is also a prime instrument for the development of competencies of the institutions of higher education and research through the exchange and sharing of knowledge in a spirit of international solidarity. The idea promoted by UNESCO of the dual function of UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks as think tanks (“think tank”) and “bridge builders” between academia, civil society, local communities, research and decision-making policy, adaptation and creation of new networks, strengthening North-South, South-South and North-South-South cooperation, the creation of centers of excellence and innovation at regional level or subregional, strengthening the dynamics of networks and alliances is part of the philosophy of Humboldt and HIU Group in particular.
